16:18 Craig-Allan: Ok, moving to NAY or NO. If you don't support the motion type that.
16:19 Craig-Allan: Waiting a decent interval....
16:19 Craig-Allan: Ok, no NAYs recorded.
16:19 das-g[m]: (I abstain.)
16:19 Craig-Allan: Any abstentions? Say ABSTAIN or something similar ...
16:19 Sarah[m]: abstain
16:19 das-g[m]: ABSTAIN
16:19 soem4324: abstain
16:19 Craig-Allan: Waiting a decent interval....
16:20 Craig-Allan: Ok, the motion is carried. Thank you.
16:20 Craig-Allan: The next items are the Chairperson's Report, The Treasurer's report and the Personnel COmmittee report.
16:21 Craig-Allan: I would like to post links to those and let people read them later. Is that an acceptable move?
16:21 Craig-Allan: (Asks for meeting to support this)
16:22 das-g[m]: Are we to on accepting these reports, or are they just informative?
16:22 das-g[m]: * we to vote on accepting
16:22 Craig-Allan: This is the Chairperson's report https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Annual_General_Meetings/2026/Chairperson%E2%80%99s_report
16:23 Craig-Allan: We can vote to accept them, or we can skip that. The meeting is free to do either and I will take direction
16:23 Craig-Allan: If you want to read each and have discussion, tell me. Otherwise I will make it a shorter meeting and move past that.
16:24* Gregory_Marler (~oftc-webi@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:24 drolbr[m]: I suggest we leave two minutes for reading. I no discussion comes up them we take it as purely informative.
16:25 rphyrin: agree with drolbr
16:25 Craig-Allan: Ok, two minutes from now. Go
16:26* TerryC (~oftc-webi@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:26 MinhNguyn[m]: Was the bit about Grant’s personal BTC account already public? If not, should the report be talking about his personal tax situation?
16:27 Craig-Allan: OK, two minutes are up. Ask questions and I will answer them.
16:28 dorothea: Minh, yes. See https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Board/Minutes/2026-04#Creation_of_OSMF_account_on_BTC_exchange_service
16:28 MinhNguyn[m]: Thank you.
16:29 rphyrin: "The LCCLocal Chapter Congress".. "survey on what is hard about being part of the OSM movement"... " it is demotivating being 'yelled' at by expert mappers" | the survey gathered important issues, but i wonder whether any concrete action has been taken to address them.
16:29 Craig-Allan: Starting with Minh. I know nothing about Grant's tax situation. And say nothing about it. However if he starts handling hundreds of thousands of pounds of third party fund the HMRCHis Majesty's Revenue and Customs will come knocking and ask why, which is not a good thing. We want to avoid that so we now have a way to convert BTC to funds as soon as possible under Board control and tax liability.
16:30 MinhNguyn[m]: Craig: Understood, just wanted to make sure we weren’t putting him in hotter water than necessary w/ public communications.
16:30 MinhNguyn[m]: But it’s old news, so ignore me.
16:31 Craig-Allan: Answering rphyrin - the issue is an old one. We are always very careful to say that corrective guidance should be given gently. But it keeps happening.
16:31 Craig-Allan: The grumpy stuff keeps happening.
16:32* Koreller (~oftc-webi@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:32 Craig-Allan: Any further comments and discussion?
16:32 das-g[m]: Also from the section "Local Chapters and Communities Working Group"LCCWG :
16:32 das-g[m]: > They were that documentation mostly in English […]
16:32 das-g[m]: I think there's the verb "is" missing.
16:32 Craig-Allan: (waits decent interval)
16:33* Koreller has quit ()
16:33 Craig-Allan: The word "is" will be edited in. Thanks for that.
16:33 rphyrin: i don't know what the proper procedure is for establishing a new working group, but i wonder whether we could create one to address this "mapper bullying" problem.
16:33 rphyrin: just a suggestion :)
16:34 Craig-Allan: Ok, I'm going to move on. Next is the Treasurers report. Here is the link: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Annual_General_Meetings/2026/Treasurer%27s_report
16:34 Craig-Allan: You have two minutes to read. Go!
16:35 das-g[m]: > […] expenses for or website team […]
16:35 das-g[m]: Should probably be «our» instead of «or».
16:35 drolbr[m]: Yes, indeed, and thank you.
16:35 das-g[m]: What does "SRRE" mean?
16:36 das-g[m]: s/SRRE/SSRE/
16:36* GregoryMarler (~oftc-webi@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:36* Gregory_Marler has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
16:36 drolbr[m]: SRRE -> SSRE
16:36 Craig-Allan: Ok. Two minutes are up.
16:36 drolbr[m]: Our SSRE is GrantGrant Slater.
16:36* Dorothea[m] (~dorotheam@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:36 Dorothea[m]: SSRE = Senior Site Reliability Engineer
16:36 das-g[m]: Thanks!
16:37 Craig-Allan: Can I answer about "mapper bullying" - it falls to the moderation ateam (bless them!) and DWG to ensure that discussions and changeset comments are gently handled. And it works pretty well.
16:37 Craig-Allan: Ok, comments on the Treasurer's report please.....
16:38 Craig-Allan: (not on my abysmal typing)
16:38 Craig-Allan: Comments..... going once
16:38 rphyrin: Suggestion : Maybe we can edit the SSRE section to spell out the abbreviation as “Senior Site Reliability Engineer” (to prevent further confusion)
16:38 GregoryMarler: The "very generous BTC donation to perform useful work" is it recorded what that is, and what it was for? Was it solicited for, or did the donor approach OSMF?
16:38 drolbr[m]: Yes, I'm happy to do that.
16:39 DaniWaltersdorfer[m]: rphyrin: i like this idea
16:39 Craig-Allan: ok, noted, we shouldn't speak in jargon. Good note.
16:39 Dorothea[m]: OSMF's BTC wallet history: https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/1J3pt9koWJZTo2jarg98RL89iJqff9Kobp
16:39 Craig-Allan: The BTC was anonymous.
16:40 Craig-Allan: We have no idea who sent it, which is a bit worrying. We are putting in place a procedure to check the origins of bitcoin or similar crypto donations. We don't want to be paid the proceeds of crimes.
16:41 das-g[m]: To avoid jargon, maybe also spell out BTC as "Bitcoin".
16:41 GregoryMarler: Ah okay. The treasurer's report made it sound like the donation was for specific work, it may be good for Roland to clarify that is not the case.
16:41 drolbr[m]: Thank you for the suggestion, I will amend that.
16:41 Craig-Allan: OK, any more....
16:41 Craig-Allan: No more.....
16:41 Dorothea[m]: already done
16:42 Craig-Allan: Moving on. Personnel Committee report. Another 2 minutes to read it. Go! https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Annual_General_Meetings/2026/Personnel_committee%27s_report
16:42 rphyrin: one additional comment regarding "mapper bullying": in underrepresented languages (non-english), this bullying is still rampant, especially when there's no dwg Data Working Group member who speaks that language. not to mention that newbie mappers don't even know what to do next (they don't know the existence of the dwg at all) when they get bullied by someone who sounds like a super-expert (and also sounds like they own the whole openstreetmap project)
16:42 GregoryMarler: Presumably the OSMF don't want donations to be in return for favours from the board etc. Proceeds of rime aren't the only thing to mitigate. But I think this discussion is not needed as part of our current meeting.
16:43 drolbr[m]: I suggest that I remove the wording "to perform useful work" from the Bitcoin sentence.
16:43 rphyrin: ... and i'm speaking from personal experience as someone who has been bullied myself :') XD
16:43 Craig-Allan: As someone who was once bullied mercilessly at school I fully support better handling of bullying. I will take it on as a personal project.
16:44 Craig-Allan: Geeky people get bully's attention....
16:44 Craig-Allan: Geeky people don't use an apostrophe in the wrong place.....
16:45 Craig-Allan: Two minutes is up. Questions on Personnel?
16:45 GregoryMarler: drolbr[m] I think you also want to change "siltation" to "situation". I'm happy for you to make those changes post-meeting. I am happy with your answers to my question, thank you.
16:45 Craig-Allan: Personnel questions?
16:45 drolbr[m]: I've just changed it. If it is informal, we can do that.
16:46 Craig-Allan: Personnel questions....?
16:46 Craig-Allan: Nothing. I will then move on.
16:46 rphyrin: how are PC members chosen (or elected)?
16:46 drolbr[m]: informal -> informational
16:46 Craig-Allan: Whoops. One question.
16:46 Craig-Allan: Can someone answer it.
16:47* ravik has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
16:47 drolbr[m]: To my understanding the members of the PCPersonnel Committee are the line managers of long term contractors and employees.
16:47 HctorOchoaOrtiz[m]: yes
16:48 Craig-Allan: Should I? Personnel Committee members are the sum of people who have taken on the task of managing some contractor or staff. So essentially it is a crowd of volunteers.
16:48 drolbr[m]: Usually, they are appointed by the board and keep that post until someone else is appointed.
16:48* green_table has quit (Quit: Page closed)
16:49 Craig-Allan: But volunteers are approved by the Board. We would not put someone unsuitable in charge of a staffer or contractor.
16:49 drolbr[m]: Yes, the line managers are volunteers. But they need some authorization for their responsibility.
16:49 Craig-Allan: More questions?
16:49 das-g[m]: A general question about https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/ :
16:49 das-g[m]: As only foundation website editors have an account on that wiki, would it be appropriate to make the edit history (maybe anonymized) viewable without being logged in, so that we can see how content evolved?
16:49 rphyrin: ... maybe that answer could be included in the document's "introduction" section
16:50 GregoryMarler: More information about the Personnel Committee can be found here: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Personnel_Committee/Charter
16:50 rphyrin: thank you Gregory
16:51 Craig-Allan: Can you send me that question about the wiki to my work email. It is complicated and the Wiki is tricky. I'll put it on the GitLab as an issue to be followed up on. craig.allan@osmfoundation.org
16:51 das-g[m]: Thank you, I will.
16:51 GregoryMarler: Questions during this meeting should try to focus on responding to the reports presented. There is an "Any Other Business" section at the end, although I think we were supposed to inform Dorothea or Craig in advance of subjects we wished to raise.
16:52 Craig-Allan: Yes, there is AOBAny Other Business, though after the election the meetings get chaotic. Again, best to write to board@osmfoundation.org if you have a question of any complicated nature.
16:53 Craig-Allan: No more personnel questions. The next item is election to Board. I am a candidate, so t this point I recuse myself gracefully. Over and out. 73's
16:53 Craig-Allan: Who is next? Sarah?
16:53 drolbr[m]: I suggest that we hand over to the MWGMembership Working Group ...
16:53 drolbr[m]: Membership Working Group
16:54 drolbr[m]: ... for the agenda item elections.
16:54 Sarah[m]: I stand in for MWG today. Everyone was able to cast their vote? If you still have open issue, please write now. Otherwise, I will stop the vote and get the ballots.
16:54 Craig-Allan: Ok, I'm happy wit that
16:54 Sarah[m]: Looks like there are no question. Then I'm closing the ballot.
16:57* ravik (~oftc-webi@***.***.***.***) has joined
16:57 Sarah[m]: The following candidates were elected: Craig Allan, Gregory Maler, Héctor Ochoa Ortiz and Maurizio Napolitano.
16:57 Craig-Allan: Hooray!!!!!
16:58 Sarah[m]: 595 votes were cast of which 580 were valid.
16:58 GregoryMarler: Congratulations!
16:58 das-g[m]: What a surprise! 😉
16:58 das-g[m]: Congrats!
16:58 drolbr[m]: I would like to congratulate the re-elected candidates. I also would like to thank Laura for sitting on the board.
16:59 DaniWaltersdorfer[m]: drolbr[m]: Yes, 100%. Thank you, Laura for your leadership, passion, motivation! It's been such a pleasure working with you
17:00 Craig-Allan: Yes, congratulations to the elected and re-elected members. Welcome Gregory, we have a big corner office for you!
17:00 GregoryMarler: Is it a virtual corner office?
17:00 drolbr[m]: Craig-Allan: And full with some hundred GitLab items :)
17:00 das-g[m]: It's the biggest office of the OSMF headquarters.
17:00 BrazilSingh[m]: Congratulations to the re-elected members and of course elected member. Big thank you Laura.
17:01 Craig-Allan: And Laura has been great. I will miss you Laura, though we know you'll be working hard in LCCWG and proably afew other WGs.
17:01 drolbr[m]: Yes, I would like to congratulate the newly elected candidates as well. I just have typed too fast.
17:01 drolbr[m]: candidates -> candidate
17:01 Dorothea[m]: thanks also to Michael Spreng (Membership Working Group volunteer) and Brian Sperlongano (facilitator of the questioning process)
17:02 Craig-Allan: It is a very interesting 4 dimensional corner office. You can't get out of it for the next two years!
17:02 Dorothea[m]: and Sarah for standing in
17:02 Craig-Allan: Thank you to Sarah and Dorothea who did a lot of work too.
17:02 drolbr[m]: And the entire MWG
17:02 Craig-Allan: Shall we move to Any other Business?
17:03 Craig-Allan: Does anyone have a question they would like to pout to the NEW board??
17:03 GregoryMarler: Thank you to all involved in the elections, including being a member that voted. Hopefully next elections will have more candidates and perhaps more members voting.
17:03 das-g[m]: Do we get a link to the detailed vote results?
17:03 Craig-Allan: put not pout.
17:03 Craig-Allan: Yes, you do. Dorothea will post them o the Wiki
17:04 GregoryMarler: Clarification: Thank you to all involved in the elections, including anyone simply being a member that voted.
17:04 DaniWaltersdorfer[m]: as you can tell, we're a very grateful group
17:04 Sarah[m]: You should already have an email with a link to results.
17:05 Craig-Allan: Any Other Business? If none, I will start to close the meeting.
17:05 GregoryMarler: OpaVote has sent an e-mail with a link to results but the page says "The results for this election are not available.". I trust that the results will be shown on the wiki in the next hour or 2.
17:05 Craig-Allan: I am not seeing Any Other Business.....
17:06 Craig-Allan: Last call for Any Other Business
17:06 DaniWaltersdorfer[m]: THANK YOU EVERYONE
17:06 DaniWaltersdorfer[m]: hope you continue having a great weekend :)
17:06 GregoryMarler: Link from the OpaVote email is no fixed. :D

17:07 Craig-Allan: I am going to close the meeting. Thank you to the members who attended. Thank you very much. Thank you to all who voted. Thabnk you to the Membership people, thank you to the manifesto moderator.
