Actual business
Refactoring of OSM website notes
No public updates, we'd like closure on this bit of work. Roland has confirmed that Gregory's first invoice has been fully paid.
EWG help with recruitment for copyright page update
Emerson volunteers to continue work on this toghether with Robert.
Emerson will coordinate with Robert the work to finalize the bid for the next meeting. Previous bid as a reference.
2025 Budget
The board has approved the EWG's budget request.
Sovereign Tech Fund (STF)
The OpenStreetMap Foundation is now actively recruiting for the facilitator position.
The Engineering Working Group members are still encouraged to prepare supporting job interviews once the application process arrives at this point.
Microgrants
Postponed because Mikel is absent today.
GDPR
Andrew has reached out to planetdump-ng developers. On that project's side the distinction between meta data and no meta data can already be done with switches. It is still a different thing to have a deployment where consumers of both types of minute diffs have documention what to do exactly.
Context:
- Public discussion on GitHub: https://github.com/osmfoundation/ewg_bidding/pull/12
- Public community forum discussion: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/ewg-plans-to-hire-a-contractor-to-improve-gdpr-compliance/121232
Next steps:
- Improve the draft on the GitHub repo
- Look also through the code whether there are obviously loose ends
Andrew and Roland volunteer to sort out with Andrew what to do next.
Vector Tiles
Paul is looking at optimizing performance. This is the result of monitoring actual usage.
iD Development
