Actual business

Microgrants

Salim has published a text for the public microgrant announcement.

The Engineering Working Group (EWG) decides to keep the limit of 6000 GBP per project idea. The EWG encourages the jurors to forward project ideas above that limit to EWG back and to the Foundation to find other means of funding.

Copyright page update with CommsWG

It's done!

Minh has been very helpful in moving this to the finish line and has also included the change in his summary of changes.

There are still some ideas about design improvements which go beyond the text that has already been added, but those need some more thinking.

iD Development

Martin's new contract is pending board approval.

Bing Imagery

The issue is currently stalling at Microsoft. Sharing the iD key could be considered as a potential solution. This is discussed and prepared between the maintainers of the two editors, pending acceptance from Microsoft.

Next Projects to Commission / Projects Pipeline

Shall the Data Model work be continued? It might be more feasible now that we have more ability as an organization to coordinate software work. The EWG shall check with Minh for his perspective.

What else should EWG be commissioning?

Any other business

New meeting schedule

Roland has conducted a poll among EWG members and Minh about the date of the next meeting. The next meeting will be two hours later than the usual schedule.

Floss Fund

The Floss Fund is a potential source of financial support. Salim volunteers. Hector and Roland support writing an application.

For Information

The EWG is made aware of a really runaway de-facto but unannounced organized mapping supposed to take place within Ecuador.
