Vector tiles

Adam is now meeting with Paul every two weeks for updates on Vector tiles work.

Current focus: logging, shortbread schema, guides.

iD Development

Some internal-only discussion. No motions considered.

Bing Imagery

Brief update by Mikel: Stil in motion, nothing urgent.

HOT is also potentially affected by this general issue and there have been some conversations with HOT members about it.

Any other business

State of the Map

The EWG discusses whether it should submit a talk proposal and about what topic.

GPS tracks work

The contractor has started work on GPS track management yesterday. The intended goal is:

  • Sustainability and scalability of this feature
  • improved privacy, in particular wrt the GDPR
  • a feature refresh

OGC standards dicussions

The EWG takes notice of the discussion around a proposal to make something an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard that is considered by parts of the OpenStreetMap (OSM) community to give the Overture Foundation an undue lever of control:

The OpenStreetMap Foundation as a whole has commented it. Some comments have also been made by OSM community members.
