1. Status of Local Chapters Working Group

Short discussion about potential role of local chapters when resolving conflicts. No specific guidance is given by board to the Local Chapters Working Group which has its kick-off meeting tomorrow.

2. Expense Policy

Short discussion about what kind of board member’s travel expenses are taken over by the OSMF. Current position is that we want to remain flexible and not spell out exactly what counts as “essential travel on behalf of OSMF”. It is noted that the expense policy has never been abused and none of the board members have even claimed expenses for the last two SOTM conferences.

3. Circulating Draft Policies

Discussion about the way in which a trademark policy draft was circulated to working groups without prior discussion within the board, and how to distinguish between drafts that come from the board and drafts that come from just individual board members. Inconclusive.
