Reportage
AMS
- Grant went to AMS and replaced batteries and disks.
- Waiting for power quotes. We're going over for about 30-50 EUR/month.
- Faffy (Development and “tool” server at Amsterdam [Equinix]) is noticeably slower.
Dublin
- Grant bought the modules - will post them to Dublin. Remote hands to slot them in.
- Single mode fiber, 1310 mm optic - 10Km.
Ironbelly
- Fully repaired.
- Grant is temporarily using it for storing imagery.
AWS
Cost for all the gpx traces and user images: 400-500 USD - need syncing across data centers.
Syncing:
- Create a rule that does the replication, which picks only new items.
- Use tool to find items which have not replicated and copy them across.
Action item: Grant to talk to Tom about changing the AWS keys. (low priority)
WordPress Security
XMLRPC will remain disabled.
Two-factor authentication (2FA): dominated by commercial plugins. Primary plugin has reasonable features. Aim: users authenticate via email as a second factor. 2FA plugin to be finalised?
Incident
- Spammer logged in with the account of a translator, edited one of the posts on blog.osm.org and put a time delay before the post with the spam went live.
- A translator's account could edit original English posts and French.
- We reverted blog.osm.org to the back up from the 17th.
Action items:
- Grant Slater to share the list of WordPress users with Dorothea and their response to keeping an account.
- Grant Slater to disable all users on not active sites.

Cogent cancellation 30 days before the end of July 2023.
Need to get the board's go ahead, in Guillaume's absence.
Action item: Grant to go through the HE.net prices.
- Policy draft needs work and review
- Grant tried ChatGPT and created a draft policy, which included points that make sense like: relative ease of use and does not destroy data.
- Remaining question: what will be the default editor.
- Rapid wanted to embed.
- NPM package.json would be nice for embedding (Andy/Tom website dev team)
Streets.GL
- Increased API error rates because of heavy relation usage.
- 1 million requests/day.
We will ask them not to use the editing API for pulling relation data.
Action item: Tom to open an issue on streets.gl GitHub repository, ask them not to use editing API for pulling relation data and point to our usage policy.
