- Geoffrey: Handbook doesn't say anything about using closed/proprietary channels for communications
- Eugene: Let's use the Gambia, Nigeria, and Brasil applications to give us feedback on whether the process is working and iterate/update
UN Maps conference
- UN had a conference in Spain
- OSMF attended; see blog post by Sarah: https://blog.openstreetmap.org/2024/06/18/openstreetmap-at-the-unmaps-conference-2024/
- Issue: Sometimes people/groups (including in the UN) use OSM without attribution
- UN Maps is under the Secretariat and separate from agencies like UNICEF, UNESCO, WHO, FAO, etc.
- Question: Can Local chapters and communities approach UN Maps for collaboration?
- Michael: Yes. UN Maps provides free training on topographical mapping, etc.
