Local Chapters and Communities Working Group/Affiliation Model Subcommittee

The LCCWG Affiliation Model Subcommittee is a volunteer group of OSM community members assembled by the Local Chapters and Communities Working Group (LCCWG) to advance the improvement of OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) Affiliation Model agenda.

Goal

Provide recommendations to the Board as to how the OSMF affiliation scheme can be improved to accommodate less-formal user groups (i.e. unregistered local communities) and non-geographical/thematic groups.

LCCWG Affiliation Model Subcommittee - Participation and Volunteers

Participation in this group has remained open to all that want to support our efforts. There was a public Call for Volunteers in November 2024. The subcommittee meets online and is posted in osmcal.org. We also have an active WhatsApp Group, which has 21 members. The subcommittee will continue to meet until a proposal to provide recommendations to the Board .
